Best Payout Casinos

If improving your chances to the maximum while gambling is a priority for you, then the best payout casinos are definitely for you.

💡 Did you Know: To determine the payout rate (RTP), you need to subtract the house edge from 100%. The result is the percentage of bets that players can expect to receive back over the long term. For example, if a casino game has a house edge of 5%, the payout rate would be 95%. This calculation provides valuable insight into the casino's advantage and helps players make informed decisions about which games to play for better chances of winning or higher payouts.

How We Rate and Review the Best Online Casinos in Ireland

We rate and review online casinos in Ireland by assessing 10 different aspects:

  1. Assessing casino bonuses

  2. Evaluating casino games

  3. Sign-up process

  4. Convenience of payment methods

  5. Reputation

  6. Customer support quality

  7. Safety measures

  8. License validity

  9. Mobile usability

  10. Responsible gambling features

If a particular aspect of an online casino in Ireland transitions from its initial state to a more favorable one, or to a less reliable one, we update our reviews and ratings accordingly.

Our team uses an extended rating guideline when judging whether an Irish casino is worthy of our readers' wagers. By complying with this guideline, we produce unbiased, comprehensive, and high-quality casino reviews that help improve the gambling experience of Irish players.

missing alt

Assessing casino bonuses

We assess casino bonuses by checking the variety of promotions available, percentages and payouts of offers, their terms and conditions for fairness, and wagering requirements.

If we find that a casino's bonuses or conditions improve or worsen over time, we update our evaluations accordingly to ensure Irish players have the latest information to make better choices while gambling online.

missing alt

Evaluating casino games

We evaluate casino games in operators by checking the game variety, quality of game providers, free-to-play options, and user experience across all devices for a smooth gaming experience. If a casino consistently offers a wide range of high-quality games, regularly updates its gaming portfolio, and makes sure all games work fast on both desktop and mobile, it directly improves the player experience.

missing alt

Testing sign-up processes

We test sign-up processes by registering to each online casino and learning what type of documents and information they require before they let new players claim welcome bonuses. If a particular casino's requirements become too complex or time-consuming, we take note of it for our evaluation.

missing alt

Convenience of payment methods

To ensure the convenience of payment methods for Irish casino players, we check the ease of depositing funds, the variety of methods accepted, and their withdrawal times so that players don't have to wait a week to get their winnings. If a casino offers primary payment methods like debit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro and e-wallets like PayPal, Skrill, and Neteller, with adequate timespans to withdraw, we consider it favorable.

missing alt

Reputation

To make sure we only present safe and secure casino operators to our visitors, we assess casino reputation and trustworthiness by consulting real players, collecting info from unbiased review sites, and researching reported complaints to understand their credibility. If a gambling site has positive feedback and is regarded as reliable in the industry, it makes a positive impact on our assessment.

missing alt

Customer support quality

We evaluate customer support quality by ensuring the casino offers live chat, email, and phone support, with English as the language of communication, because the availability of such communication channels is essential for a seamless experience for Irish players. If a casino fails to meet these criteria and doesn't reply promptly and attentively to a player's queries, we do not include them in our listings.

missing alt

Safety measures

We assess every casino's security measures by checking SSL encryption and firewalls ( to protect the financial and personal data of the player) and adherence to fair play regulations ( independent audits by organizations like eCOGRA). If an online casino lacks these security layers, it won't be recommended. to Irish players.

missing alt

License validity

To verify license validity, we confirm if the casino operates under a legal jurisdiction with stringent rules and regulations such as the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), or Curacao eGaming. If an online casino is unlicensed or holds a license from a non-reputable regulator, they are never included in our lists and are marked as blacklisted to draw a clear distinction between reputable and rogue online casinos.

missing alt

Mobile Usability

To ensure the mobile usability of online casinos, we assess whether the casino is compatible with various devices, particularly with iPhone and Android, by testing them ourselves to see if slots and live dealer games work smoothly regardless of location. If the casino has delays or problems with game performance and responsiveness, they don't make it to our best casinos list.

missing alt

Responsible gambling features

To evaluate responsible gambling features, we check if the casino offers features like self-exclusion programs, time-tracking, and money spent on gambling charts. If a casino doesn't show interest in providing such tools and help to their players in need, then it clearly means they promote unhealthy gambling behavior and we never support that here on Irishluck.

  • Irish players stake bets amounting to over €5 billion per year! Even though this is a small amount when compared to big markets like China, it's still quite a lot for Ireland.

  • Ireland's online gambling market is projected to grow by 3.60% until 2027, reaching a market volume of €1.29 billion in 2027.

Gambling Legislation

Gambling regulations in Ireland involve legislation that covers various aspects of gambling, with a recent focus on the introduction of the Gambling Regulation Bill in late 2022 to establish the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI). The proposed bill will have to go through 11 total stages, and it is currently in the ''Report Stage'' of Dáil Éireann.

This proposed new authority will be responsible for gambling regulation (online and land-based), safeguarding consumers, compliance procedures, and setting restrictions for advertisement and sponsorship. It will be Ireland's most comprehensive gambling legislation, repealing the previous Bills: the Totalisator Act of 1929, the Betting Act of 1931, and the Gaming and Lotteries Act of 1956. For more information, check out our gambling regulations page for recent legislation and any future updates.

Gambling Regulation Bill Timeline

Since this bill is still a work in progress, we will be updating the timeline whenever there's an update.

Past and Current Stages:

  • 2nd December 2022 (Dáil First Stage): The Bill was presented to the Dáil Éireann, which is the lower house and the principal chamber of the Oireachtas.

  • 6th December 2022 (Dáil Second Stage): The Bill was up for debate and it was completed at the Dáil Éireann.

  • 6th December 2022 (Dáil Third Stage): The Bill was thoroughly examined, and any necessary amendments were made.

  • Current Stage (Dáil Fourth Stage): The amendments that arose during the third stage are considered here. This is the current stage as of March 2024.

Future Stages:

  • Dáil Fifth Stage: The final statements on the Bill are made. This is known as the final stage in the Dáil Éireann.

  • Seanad First Stage: The bill passes to the Seanad Éireann, which is the upper house of the Oireachtas.

  • Seanad Second Stage: The bill is debated amongst the members.

  • Seanad Third Stage: The bill is examined section by section, and changes may be made. This is also known as the Committee Stage.

  • Seanad Fourth Stage: The changes that arose in the previous stage are considered here.

Land-Based Casinos in Ireland

There are 6 major brick-and-mortar casinos in Ireland:

  • The Sporting Emporium Casino
  • Fitzwilliam Casino (Permanently Closed)
  • Ned Kelly's Sportsclub & Casino
  • D1 Casino Club
  • Fitzpatricks' Casino Dublin
  • Macau Sporting Club Casino Cork

Most of these land-based casinos operate as "private clubs" since laws in Ireland don't exactly support them being out and open. So it means you would have to register as a member to be able to play at these clubs.

  4. Cooling-Off Periods: Verify if the casino offers cooling-off periods during which you can suspend your account temporarily.

  5. Reality Checks: Check for regular pop-up notifications reminding you of your gaming duration to stay mindful of your habits.
