Play ‘n Go and Hugo Games have announced a partnership agreement that will see the Swedish software developer launching a new video slots game in the third quarter of this year. The 5 reel, 10 payline game will be based on the well-known Danish troll, Hugo.
Hugo Games owns the intellectual property rights for the Hugo franchise. Hugo first debuted as an animated character in a television series in Denmark in the 1990s before making its way to more than 40 countries around the world. Today, the well-known troll’s character has since been developed into books, magazines, video games and now a feature film. This video slots game will be the first real-money game that has been launched for the franchise.
“We are extremely excited to work on Hugo – a character that many around the world grew up with and remember fondly,” said Martin Zettergren, chief operating officer of Play ‘n Go.
The Hugo slots game will be a 5 reel, 10 payline game featuring characters, animations and sounds from the original series that will be sure to delight fans of the show. It will be developed in HTML5 and Flash and will be launched exclusively in Denmark via Royal Casino and for the rest of the world via Play ‘n Go’s direct operator deals.
With Play ‘n Go games available in 32 languages via around 100 operators, players around the world will be able to enjoy this new game when it is launched later in the year.
“We can’t wait to bring Hugo and friends to the world of premium slots and I’m certain that the agreement with Hugo Games A/S and RoyalCasino.dk will bear fruit for all parties,” continued Zettergren.
