Whilst you’re likely to find Evoplay’s Penalty Shoot-out: Street in the online slot section, the game behaves more like an instant win or crash game. Instead of worrying about reels and paylines, you’ll get to take on a goalkeeper at penalties. That's not all there is, either, with strong graphics and a little bit of storytelling, too. Personally, I would have preferred the game to include more bonus mechanics, but I really liked the level of detail the developers put into the game’s visuals.

Here are Some Screenshots I Took of the Game
Penalty Shoot-out: Street isn’t your standard slot, it replaces traditional grid-based gameplay with a penalty shoot-out in the streets of Brazil. This makes for a refreshing change, with unique gameplay and visuals.
Your arch-nemesis, the goalkeeper, has detailed features and several different animations when attempting to stop you from scoring. While the skin’s texture is impressive, I found it slightly jarring as it makes the goalie look like they’re shining.
I was very impressed by the subtle animations. The ball ripples across the net when you score, birds fly above the goal and the clouds shift in the sky. While these additions are easy to miss, they add life to the game and make the experience more immersive overall.

Should You Play Penalty Shoot-out: Street?
Yes, Penalty Shoot-out: Street is a great way to enjoy both football and iGaming simultaneously. I found being able to represent your country’s team through the flag button really fun. Sure, it has no mechanical impact, but I have technically scored for Ireland now. The game didn’t need this extra detail, but having it makes it feel a little more personal to the player.
The cash out option was another highlight, offering players the opportunity to cash out their winnings immediately or keep playing for the chance of a higher multiplier. This simple mechanic was easy to understand and gave the game higher stakes. However, scoring five goals to land the max win is tricky and you'll need to be tactical with the ‘Collect’ button.
The quality gameplay is combined with Evoplay’s immersive graphics. Whether it’s the clouds circling in the sky, the net rippling from the impact of the ball or the several animations the goalkeeper has, there’s lots of little details that make the game feel full of life.
However, I came across a few shots that didn't hit the target. Whilst I liked the cash out feature, the downside was that you can score three goals and then lose everything by missing the fourth. This makes every shot all or nothing, which can lead to some disappointing misses.
Penalty Shoot-out: Street has medium volatility, which some players may find divisive. High rollers tend to prefer games with high volatility and beginners look for games with low volatility. Ultimately, the gameplay is one dimensional as there are no bonus games to change things up. This gives the game the chance to feel repetitive and feels a little hollow.
- 😀 You can represent your team
- 🥳 Unique cash out feature
- ⚙️ Strong graphics
- 😥 Medium Volatility
- 😔 One-dimensional gameplay
How to Place Your First Bet on Penalty Shoot-out: Street?
This game is slightly different to most, but before we get going, you’ll need to find yourself a casino that has the game. Have a read of our reviews at Irishluck and find an Irish online casino you like, but make sure that it has Penalty Shoot-out: Street before you sign up!
Here’s how I made my first bet on the game:
If you’ve already signed up to your chosen casino skip to step three. If not, then click the button that says ‘Register’, ‘Join’, ‘Sign Up’ or something similar. It’s often found in the top right-hand corner of the site.
Fill out your personal information, such as your name, date of birth and email. You may be asked to verify this information, which I would recommend doing to save time later.
Head to the ‘Deposit’ section and complete a transaction. At this stage, you’ll usually be able to opt into a welcome offer.
With some funds in your account, search for Penalty Shoot-out: Street using the casino’s search bar.
As you open the game, a pop-up will appear explaining the basics. Click ‘Don’t show next time’, as you’ll learn all this shortly, and then hit the play button.
Now that you’re in the game, you’ll need to choose a national team to play for. Of course, choose Ireland and then click ‘Confirm’. If you really want to play for another team at any point, you can adjust this by clicking the flag icon in the bottom left corner.
Whack the menu and then click the ‘Rules’ options. Familiarise yourself with all the information here to get up to speed with how the game works.
Head back to the game and use the minus (-) and plus (+) signs next to the ‘Bet’ button to adjust your bet size.
With your stake chosen, hover your cursor over the part of the goal that you wish to aim for and click that to take your shot.
If you score a goal, you’ll have won the bet. You can either cash out by clicking the ‘Collect’ button next to the football or take another shot to try and earn a higher multiplier up to 32x your initial bet. If you miss, you’ll lose your wager and any multipliers you’ve earned up to that point.
My First Moments Playing Penalty Shoot-out: Street
When I first loaded Kickoff, I wasn't entirely sure whether I was about to play a slot or a football mini-game. Unlike most slots, no spinning reels or familiar grids are waiting for you. Instead, the game puts three footballers front and centre, each taking a turn to kick the ball and create the final result. It's definitely different, but kind of deadly, the way they’re basically aiming at the screen.
Futebol de Rua
When you open the ‘Rules’ section, you’ll see a few paragraphs illustrating the cultural significance of street football or Futebol de Rua, in Brazil. This also establishes why the character is playing and helps immerse you into the game. As a lifelong football fan myself, it was nice to see the importance of the game reflected in the game.
Provably Fair Software
One of the first things I noticed after opening the game was a button on the left-hand side with the ‘Copy’ symbol, from the hit duo ‘Copy and Paste’. I’d never seen this symbol used in a game before, so I checked out what the ‘Rules’ section said about it. I discovered that Penalty Shoot-out: Street is a Provably Fair game and that this button allows you to copy the game round’s validation string. Whacking this string into any SHA-256 hash generator will reveal a hash code matching the one of your game round. This proves that there was no tampering with the game and that your round was fair.
Let's Talk About the Bonus Games You'll Find
Penalty Shoot-out: Street only features one bonus mechanic. While I would have enjoyed more bonus features, having only one additional mechanic makes it much easier for players to learn the game, meaning it appeals to everyone.
Win Multipliers
Every time you score a goal, you’ll earn a win multiplier in the following amounts:
One goal: 2x multiplier
Two goals: 4x multiplier
Three goals: 12x multiplier
Four goals: 20x multiplier
Five goals: 32x multiplier
Once you’ve scored, you’ll have the choice of trying to score more goals or collect your winnings. You cannot change your bet size before you collect your winnings. If you choose to collect, you’ll receive your current win multiplier x your initial bet. After scoring five goals, the game will automatically collect your winnings for you. Landing this, whilst rare, is very exciting.
In combination with this mechanic, there’s a bar above the goal that keeps track of what multiplier you’re currently on. This prevents you from losing track of how much you could potentially collect and keeps things exciting.
Some Technical Considerations About Penalty Shoot-out: Street
Penalty Shoot-out: Street has a Return to Player (RTP) percentage of 96%, which stays the same regardless of how many goals you’ve scored previously. This percentage refers to the theoretical amount of your funds that will return to you if you play the game for a long period of time. RTP has a direct correlation to a game’s house edge, with a 96% RTP resulting in a 4% house edge. Playing games with as low a house edge as possible will mean that you’ll have a higher Expected Value (EV) from the game. Whilst online gambling should only be played for recreational purposes and never as a way to make money, playing games with a high RTP will allow you to have the best chance of conserving your budget.
The game has medium volatility, which refers to how frequent the game pays out. Theoretically compared to games with low volatility, Penalty Shoot-out: Street should pay out less frequently but in larger amounts. Compared to high volatility games it should pay out more frequently but in smaller amounts. Penalty Shoot-out: Street sits as a Goldilocks option in the middle of these two, with a maximum win of €2,400.
Why Do I Think Penalty Shoot-out: Street Stands Out?
Penalty Shoot-out: Street’s unique gameplay offers bettors a refreshing change, adding all the excitement of going one-on-one with a goalkeeper into online gambling. This style of gameplay was easier to understand than more traditional reel-based action, which sets the game apart from slots. A standout was the cash-out feature, which makes every shot feel like it matters and sets the game apart from other titles in the genre.
That said, the game can feel one-dimensional due to a lack of bonus features that change the gameplay. It’s still one of my favourites, though.
