Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany have already booked their place in the Round of 32 as Group E winners.
The 2014 World Cup winners thrashed Curacao 7-1 in their opening match. They followed that with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast in their second game, with a brace from Deniz Undav sealing a comeback victory.
Ecuador haven’t really got going yet and will start their final group match with just one point from their two games.
Sebastian Beccacece’s team lost their opening match 1-0 to Ivory Coast and were held to a shock 0-0 draw by Curacao in their second.
Germany are 46/50 with TonyBet to make it three wins from three and close the group out in style. The draw is 3/1 (4.0) and a win for Ecuador is 13/5 (3.60).
The pressure is on Ecuador to get a result, while Germany can play with freedom. This makes another win for Nagelsmann’s team more likely, probably by a scoreline of 2-1 or 3-1.
Why you should tail the bet:
Germany have scored nine goals in their two Group E matches and look good going forward.
Kai Havertz and Denis Undav are both in good form and already have two goals each in the competition.
Ecuador are yet to score despite having 36 shots at the World Cup (ten vs Ivory Coast and 26 vs Curacao).
Germany are one of the betting favourites to win the competition and are eighth in the World Rankings, while Ecuador are 30th.
Ecuador scored just 14 goals in 18 CONMEBOL qualifiers. They are a team built to defend and may be forced to play an unnatural game to try and get the win.
Ecuador vs. Germany team news
Ecuador have no fitness concerns, so Sebastian Beccacece is likely to stick to the blueprint that saw them concede just five goals in 18 CONMEBOL qualifying matches.
However, with no goals in two matches, Jordy Caicedo could come into the team at the expense of Gonzalo Plata to freshen things up in attack alongside Enner Valencia.
Germany's Nico Schlotterbeck is out for the remainder of the competition after sustaining an ankle injury against Ivory Coast. Antonio Rudiger looks like his most likely replacement.
Julian Nagelsmann may also hand in-form striker Deniz Undav his first start of the competition, possibly in place of Kai Havertz.
Ecuador vs. Germany predicted lineups
We expect Ecuador to line up like this:
Hernan Galindez, Willian Pacho, Pervis Estupinan, Piero Hincapie, Jordy Alcivar, Alan Franco, John Yeboah, Moises Caicedo, Pedro Vite, Jordy Caicedo, Enner Valencia.
And Germany should line up as follows:
Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rudiger, David Raum, Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane, Deniz Undav.
