Here Are Some Screenshots I Took of the Game
Football Mania isn’t your average footy-themed game, as even the visuals of the slot are distinctive. For a lot of the symbols, the game goes for a 2D hand-drawn style, which adds a lot of charm to the slot. This effect is best established by the footballers themselves, who can be seen playing football on some of the game’s symbols. Football Mania has a lot of fun with these characters, distorting their proportions slightly to give off a more comical feel. The referee, in particular, looks quite terrifying as he gives you a yellow card, thanks to some particularly low eyebrows.
I really enjoyed this design, as it reminded me of picture books and more classical illustrations, which isn’t something I’d normally associate with football. This added more depth to the game for me, but I can definitely see that this aesthetic might not be for other football fans, as it is a particular visual choice that has no real relation to the beautiful game.

My First Moments Playing Football Mania
Two things caught my attention when I first clicked on Football Mania: there’s a button to toggle the game’s speed (very interesting!), and it felt strangely familiar. I quickly realised that I’d played its sequel, Football Mania Deluxe.
The Speed Selector
A feature I was very happy to see, the speed toggle proved very helpful for my relatively short attention span. It’s located next to the spin button and looks like a horse galloping with a white bar above its head. The Deluxe Version
Not long after first picking up the game, I realised that Football Mania is a predecessor to another Wazdan banger, Football Mania Deluxe.
