Should You Play the Hot Heads Slot?

Yeah, I thought that Hot Heads was really fun and full of spice. The eye-catching design and the llama brought me a lot of joy, which led me to feel like I’d like to have more characters to bet on. Mechanically, I really liked the auto cashout feature. This meant that I could set exactly when I wanted to cash out before the game started, and I could just sit back and enjoy the contest.

I would have preferred for them not to include a chewing sound as part of the game, as the character’s constant munching gave me the heebie-jeebies. I had a really good time playing Hot Heads and found it to be a grand instant-win game.

Unfortunately, instant win games don’t often have mini games.

  • 😀 Fun, brightly coloured visuals
  • 😊 Instant win game design
  • 💸 Auto cashout feature
  • 📣 Jarring sound effects (Chilli slurps)
  • 😔 No bonus games
  • 🥺 Only three characters

How to Place Your First Bet on Hot Heads?

To place your first bet on Hot Heads, you’re going to need to find a casino that carries it. Irish-luckily for you, we have loads of lists of available casinos, simply open up one of them, have a look at your options to start the process.

  1. First, you’ll need to make an account with your chosen casino. If you already have an account, skip to step 3. If not, click the ‘Register’ or ‘Log In’ button located in the top-right corner.

  2. Fill out all your personal information and complete any KYC verification checks asked of you. After this, you should be all set up with an account.

  3. Here you’ll be redirected to Hot Heads, or you’ll have to find it manually at your casino. Just whack Hot Heads in the search bar.

  4. When you open up Hot Heads, the game will dive straight in. Before betting, familiarise yourself with the game by clicking the information (i) button.

  5. You can bet on just one or all three of the characters.  Adjust your bets on each by using the minus (-) and plus (+) signs on each side of the characters. Slightly above those icons are two buttons for setting an auto cashout point and an autoplay feature, respectively.  Pick your bets and then click the green triangle on the character or characters you want to bet on.

  6. When you feel like your character has had enough spice and could explode soon, hit ‘Cashout’ to keep your deposit and the multiplier you just earned.

My First Moments Playing Hot Heads

It didn’t take me long to decide that I really liked Hot Heads. The red-hot humour, the fun visuals and instant win design mechanics really appealed to me. But there was one thing, lurking in the dark, waiting for me, one thing that I couldn’t get behind.

No One Would Have Watched ‘The Sound Of Munching’

The soundtrack is a fun mariachi song, which is enjoyable for the first couple of listens, but might become repetitive. This is fine, as a lot of slot games have this issue with sound.

What most other slot games don’t have, however, is consistent eating noises throughout the game. While I thought the game itself was really fun, I didn’t need to be surrounded by the noise of slurping down a pepper. The combined munching noises of a man, a woman and a llama were too much for me, and I ended up muting the slot.

Let's Talk About the Bonus Games You'll Find

As this is an instant-win game, Hot Heads doesn’t have traditional bonus games or features like video slots. Whilst this is slightly disappointing, this is a different style of game where you bet on when a multiplier is going to crash and get out before it does. In Hot Heads, the multiplier gets higher the longer your chosen characters can consume huge quantities of chilli peppers. The multiplier starts at x1 and can grow to x10,000 your bet.

Autoplay Feature

With autoplay, you can select how many rounds you wish to play continuously. This is really helpful if you want to make the same bet multiple times. These range from 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 rounds of flaming action. But don’t let this feature burn you, as it will keep on spinning until either the rounds are over or you’ve run out of funds.

Auto Cashout

The auto cashout feature allows you to choose exactly when you want to cash out during that round. I found this particularly helpful, because there were some cases where I was a second late in cashing out, and I found myself, headless, eyeless and brainless. It was a rough day. If only I had used the auto-cashout feature.

Some Technical Considerations About Hot Heads

I looked at the technical side of Hot Heads through the best documentation out there. I found that it has an RTP (Return to Player) of 94%. This is a hypothetical percentage of how much of your wagered funds will be theoretically returned to you by playing the slot.

As an instant win slot crashes at random, there is no way of determining its volatility. The slot has a minimum bet of €0.10 and a maximum bet of €50, although you can bet the maximum on all three characters at once.

Why Do I Think Hot Heads Stands Out?

I thought that Hot Heads was really fun. I enjoyed Hot Head’s visuals, which used bright colours and a llama in a food-eating contest to their full potential. I would have preferred if they had included more characters to bet on.  I think Hot Heads could lean more into its wacky sense of humour and have some more interesting characters, rather than just two people and a llama. This was proved even further for me, as when I played by myself and with friends, we all chose the llama each time.

The auto-cashout option was a nice touch, as I found on some rounds that I was physically too slow to push the button right before my character exploded. With an auto-cashout, I can have the round limit already set before the game starts. One feature I could have done without was the munching noises. I found the simulated sounds of chewing peppers a bit much, in all honesty, and thought that it took away from the soundtrack.

Ultimately, I found it really refreshing in a world full of video slots. I enjoyed betting on a multiplier rather than just spinning, but this format usually lacks bonus games. I’m always a fan of a mini game, something to cut through repetitive gameplay. Though overall, it’s a grand instant win game for any Irish players looking for a bit of heat… and a llama.
