Where is Glastonbury Held?
Glastonbury 2027 will mark the 41st time the festival has taken place on the iconic land of Worthy Farm. This venue has played a large part in establishing the cozy, green aesthetic that Glastonbury is known for, with the first ever Glastonbury event offering free milk with admission. It has also led to the festival having to take next year, 2026, off.
Why Is There No Glastonbury in 2026?
Glastonbury is taking a pre-planned year off in 2026 to allow the farmland to recover. This is called a fallow year, and this happens every five years so as not to cause irreparable damage to the land on Worthy Farm. As Glastonbury is a huge festival, it can cause an awful lot of waste, but the Glastonbury organisers are keen on reducing this waste as much as possible. Part of their initiative is to ban single-use plastics at their festivals and allow for fallow years, like this one. This helps Glastonbury keep its cosy farmland feel and doesn’t affect the cows and wildlife that live there. I am just as big a fan of cows as I am of live music, so I like that neither will be leaving Glastonbury anytime soon.

Who's Headlining Glastonbury 2027? Betfred Is Calling the Early Shots
If you’re wondering who’s leading the race to headline Glastonbury 2027, Betfred is currently the go-to bookmaker offering odds on potential performers. From Geordie rockstars to American pop royalty, here’s a look at the frontrunners according to the latest prices.
Sam Fender
Does Newcastle’s own Sam Fender have the best odds of headlining Glastonbury? - Aye. He’s been asking for Saturday to come for six years now, so it’s about time someone gave him the Saturday slot at Glastonbury. The Hypersonic Missiles singer’s current odds sit at 2/1 at Betfred and is the market’s current favourite. He also gets the honour of being my favourite out of these picks too.
Taylor Swift
Maybe the Cruel Summer T-Swift sang about back in 2019 was the one where we missed out on her headlining at Glastonbury? Miss Swift’s current odds at filling in the headliner Blank Space are pretty high, sitting at 3/1. Rumoured to take to the festival’s stage for many years now, Swift was meant to headline in 2020 before a certain global pandemic changed this swiftly. Since then, Spotify’s number one most-streamed artist has had a huge few years with the Eras Tour, so maybe it’s time for the Swifties to take to Glasto?
Ed Sheeran
No one’s spoken about old Ed since that appearance he had in Game of Thrones, which ended in 2019, by the way. Maybe it’s time for him to turn Galway Girl to Glasto Girl? His current odds sit at 3/1, the exact same as Swift. Rumours surrounding Mr Sheeran started when he made a surprise appearance at one of Olivia Rodrigo’s gigs, who was one of the three headliners this year.
Chappell Roan
Next up is my real favourite for headlining Glastonbury. I was trying to be cool with Sam Fender, but in reality I am a member of the Pink Pony Club through and through. She was the bookies’ favourite for the secret ‘Patchwork’ set from this year's Glastonbury. In the end, that turned out to be Pulp, so perhaps we were just two years too early? Her current odds sit at 4/1 with Betfred, but after leaving a huge impact with 2023’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess, I wouldn’t be shocked to see her take the stage in 2027.
Oasis
A strong pick for headlining could be the newly reformed Oasis. The Gallagher brothers put aside their differences and made up this year for a huge reunion tour. Glastonbury could capitalise on this by giving them a huge stage to draw in all the people that have always wanted to see the brothers play live. Their odds are 4/1, but I think they would be a good move, D’You Know What I Mean?
Beyoncé
With the same odds and similar star power to Oasis comes Queen B herself. Beyoncé previously headlined Glastonbury in 2011, becoming the first solo female Black artist to headline at the festival. As a huge household name, Beyoncé would be a great consideration for 2027. Her Cowboy Carter also bagged ‘Album of the Year’ this 2025, which could be celebrated by headlining the most iconic festival for the second time.
Bruce Springsteen
Potentially shuffling up to the Pyramid Stage at the age of 77 is the iconic Bruce Springsteen. Whilst he’s no Bruce Springchicken, his reputation is undeniable and could definitely get him to Glastonbury 2027. His current odds sit at 5/1, but stranger things have happened.
Final Thoughts on the Lineup Leaders
With no Glastonbury in 2026, 2027 offers a whole load of speculation. With the bookies’ favourite being Sam Fender, 2/1 odds are very high for something that is yet to be confirmed for another two years. I think that Oasis could be a bit of a sleeper hit if Glastonbury can convince Liam to perform at a stage he’s said he hates in the past. The market will change as time goes on, but Sam Fender’s early lead hints at a good chance of headlining Glastonbury 2027.
