Who Will Win The 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix? | Latest Betting Odds

With just 16 points separating McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, it feels as though this year’s title race is going to go right to the wire. Norris clawed back some points following back-to-back wins in the Austrian and British Grand Prix in June and July, but Piastri regained the crown last week in Belgium. It is looking likely that one of the McLaren drivers will be holding the first-place trophy on Sunday afternoon. But the question is, who will it be? What are the Irish betting sites predicting? Let's find out together!

The battle for third is heating up, too, with Max Verstappen, George Russell and Charles Leclerc all in the mix. With just 46 points separating them, it isn’t out of the question that Verstappen may be at risk of losing his third-place spot. Verstappen was able to win the sprint race at the Belgium Grand Prix last week, earning eight World Championship points in the process, yet his car wasn’t able to get past the Ferrari to see him onto the podium on race day, ultimately finishing fifth. One thing we know for sure though is to never count Verstappen out of the competition.

Following Russell’s win in Canada in mid-June, he has been struggling with his car's speed and grip, resulting in some disappointing weekends. Ferrari has felt similar struggles this year with constant setbacks, though despite this Leclerc has been able to make his way up to the podium five times this year. Will this be Leclerc’s weekend to take the crown for the first time in 2025?

The Hungarian track is sometimes dubbed ‘Monaco without walls’, with more corners than straights for the drivers to contend with. This tricky track requires skill and precision posing the question, which driver will be up for the challenge?

Hungarian Grand Prix Schedule

The Hungarian Grand Prix is the last race before the three-week summer break, allowing Verstappen fans time to prepare for a weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Take a look at the race timetable for this weekend.

Practice one: 12:30pm-13:30pm

Practice two: 4:00pm-5:00pm

Saturday 2nd August - Sky Sports F1

Practice three: 11:30am-12:30pm

Qualifying: 3:00pm-4:00pm

Sunday 3rd August - Sky Sports F1

Race: 2:00pm

Tip One - Oscar Piastri to Win the Race (6/4 with Bet365)

Casino at bet365 - Up to €100 New Player Bonus. New Casino customers only. Deposit min. €10. Max. bonus €100. 30x wagering (game weighting, table coverage and max. bet rules apply) on deposit and bonus to make the bonus balance withdrawable. Time limits and T&Cs apply.

Piastri has found himself on the podium in 11 out of 13 races this season, with six of these times being as the race winner. The Aussie has caused quite a ruckus in the McLaren garage this year, frequently winning battles against his teammate. His cool, calm, and collected demeanor gives him the edge, making him an obvious choice to try your luck with. The Hungarian circuit was where he saw his first Formula 1 victory last year, but can he make it twice in a row? bet365 is confident that Piastri will have another first place trophy to add to his cabinet on Sunday with 6/4 odds.

Tip Two - Lando Norris as Top Qualifier (7/5 on Ladbrokes)

Norris is the king of qualifying at present, but he always seems to lose the top spot on race day. He has qualified in first place four times this season and he has four wins under his belt to boot. Norris is a dominant qualifier, finding speed in the straights and braking at the last second to ensure he starts on the front row on race day. He qualified in first place in last year's Hungarian Grand Prix, only to be overtaken by his teammate following a quick launch at the start of the race. Will history repeat itself or can Lando take it from pole to podium this weekend? Ladbrokes have priced him up at 7/5 odds to qualify first in Hungary, which looks a nice bet for the expert qualifier.

Tip Three - Nico Hulkenberg with a Points Finish (13/8 on William Hill)

There is a reason they call him ‘The Hulk’. Following his move from Haas to Kick Sauber at the start of the 2025 season, his performances have been incredible so far this year. He’s been in the game for a long time now, and after 239 race starts, he finally broke his duck by securing a podium finish when third at the British Grand Prix. Kick Sauber finished last in the 2024 season, but thanks to Hulkenberg’s skill and determination, netting his team five points finishes, they now sit sixth in the Constructors’ fight.  Hulkenberg has accumulated 37 points this season, truly getting to grips with the car as the season progresses. It looks worth siding with the Hulk while he is in such good form, with William Hill having 13/8 odds for a points finish.

The Roundup

With one last chance to score points before the summer break, this weekend could be make or break for some drivers in the Championship rankings. Piastri has made himself at home on the top step of the podium this season, making the 6/4 odds look worth taking. Norris and Hulkenberg look like a likely pair to climb into the points, with punters hopefully spraying champagne themselves come Sunday afternoon.
