Frank has been the Bees' knees during his nearly seven-year stay at Brentford. Securing a top-three spot in his first two seasons in charge, Frank surged into unfamiliar territory, giving the fans a taste of top-flight football for the first time in 86 years.
Since then, the Dane has convincingly obtained two top table finishes in his first four seasons of top-flight football, securing 140 wins over 329 matches and keeping a whopping 86 clean sheets! The market is suggesting that he is the most likely man to get the nod, something that is perhaps aided by the fact that Frank has a shared history with technical director Johan Lange, having previously worked together at Lyngby; there’s speculation of Lange being a great admirer of Frank's work, and who can blame him!
Michael Carrick (4/1 with BetVictor)
Man United icon and former Spurs player Michael Carrick is tipped to make the journey from North Yorkshire over to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to set up shop, following his sacking from Middlesbrough. There’s not much to be said here in terms of his managerial record, maybe the odds suggest recency bias? But with Daniel Levy running low on options, maybe Carrick could be a familiar face around North London next season. Making a substantial 75 appearances between the years of 2004 and 2006 as a player for Spurs, he’s no stranger to the Borough of Haringey, but being a top-flight manager might be a bridge too far.
Marco Silva (8/1 with bet365)

Silva is next up, dipping his toe in the pool at 8/1 odds. My feeling is that in the coming days, he will surpass Carrick for second, but it's all up in the air at this stage! After taking a lengthy break from his brief but fruitful stint at the Toffees, finishing eighth in his first season there, the ex-Portuguese player joined Fulham back in 2021, just after being relegated. Since then, Silva has edged them back into Premier League football with conviction and style, scoring a bountiful 106 goals to win the Championship title. The first three seasons in the top flight saw Silva secure mid-table success twice in a row and a promising last-minute push for European football most recently. Levy has taken the risk with free-scoring football in the past, could this risk pay off? Silva has brought a deadly style of play to the teams he’s managed, but could this Spurs boat be too big to captain.
Oliver Glasner (12/1 with BetVictor)
With Glasner biding his time to formalise his new contract with Crystal Palace, he’s next in the market to take over as Spurs gaffer. Off the back of his historical Europe-securing season at Palace, Glasner has done some serious impressing with the Eagles.
The more his contract talks are stalled, the more Palace fans will be biting their nails. If there’s anyone who can get them playing European football, it's Glasner, with his quick transitions of play and robust attention to structure; there’s a lot to be desired from the Austrian. He’s not only a grand candidate to help Palace continue to kick on, but with his reliance on verticality, Spurs fans will be champing at the bit to get Son performing and their team back on ‘Big Six’ grounds.
Jose Mourinho (33/1 with BetVictor)
We have a rogue choice next, but the scenes would be unreal, you’ve got to say. After only 17 months in charge of Spurs, the self-proclaimed “Special One” left the team in a bang average position. The Portuguese is acclaimed for ruffling feathers wherever he makes his nest, and after being hired back in November of 2019, he brought not only a top-draw pedigree with him, but also a lot of baggage.
Having won just 51% of games during this time (I’m sure these results would be snapped up now), Mourinho was sacked and would later join Roma to achieve moderate success, settling now at Fenerbahçe, where his ego is still taking centre stage (never change, Jose). This is a wildcard, of course, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Will Ange Stay Seated?
The big question: Is there a discussion to be had about Ange-ball continuing into next season? Weirdly, the odds would suggest yes (he is 1/2 with bet365 at the time of writing) on this one, but because talks are still ongoing, there has to be some security put in place.
Whispers before the Europa League final suggested that it was written in the stars for an exit either way, and although the game itself was not convincing, you can’t argue with the facts, and Champions League football is a juicy enough fact to attract some serious change and talent for the upcoming season. I won’t be surprised either way, but it’s clear Levy has his mind set, it will be fascinating to see how talks progress in the coming days with the Club World Cup imminent and transfers ongoing.
