The Racing Partnership (TRP), a broadcasting joint venture launched this month between Arena Racing Company and seven independent racecourses, has expanded with the addition of a number of new Irish and UK betting partners. The new betting partners will strengthen TRP’s overall racing coverage and these deals represent a significant step for the newly formed joint venture.

A number of Irish bookmakers have now joined TRP and include Bambury, Bar One, Boylesports, Fox’s, Mulholland, Sean Graham and Track Sports. With these new bookmakers, there are now more than 900 betting shops (Licensed Betting Offices – LBO) in Ireland and the UK who are signed up as partners with TRP.

In addition to the new Irish betting shops that signed with the broadcasting venture this week, TRP has at the same time announced that they have signed a deal with East Midlands-based independent LBO operator, Mark Jarvis which signed up its 57 betting shops.

“Naturally, we have thought over the matter very carefully, and at the end of the day, it comes down to the fact that TRP content is essential for us,” stated David Cox, managing director of Mark Jarvis. “This is particularly the case from 1 January, 2017 when six key racecourses move from SIS to TRP, including Lingfield Park, Wolverhampton and Southwell.”

Each year, TRP will cover approximately 650 fixtures from a number of major UK racecourses and they will also cover all South African races.

“It is great news to have signed up a large number of independent LBOs in Ireland and the UK in the same week that the channel successfully went on air,” announced Mark Kingston, director of The Racing Partnership. “This creates real momentum for The Racing Partnership.”
