Playtech BGT Sports (PBS), the sports betting technology division of Playtech Plc, has announced that it has signed new commercial agreements with five independent operators in the UK and Ireland and has extended its agreements with six other operators.
These self-service betting terminal (SSBT) contracts will expand Playtech BGT’s presence in the UK and Ireland while continuing its strong commercial growth of 2017. The company extended its deal with six operators – Bet Sid, Corbett’s, GR8Odds, S&D, Toals and Toolan’s – doubling the average terminal density in each of the shops.
In addition, over the last few months, it has signed new contracts with BG Bet, Sean Graham, Star Sports Mayfair, Victoria Gate Casino and Wilf Gilbert.
“The independent sector has shown it’s ready for the challenges it faces on the high street and embracing the latest in technology and retail trends is key to this,” announced John Pettit, PBS managing director for Ireland, UK, Australia and Asia.
“The various deals we have signed with new and existing operators alike prove that there is a huge hunger amongst independent operators to adapt and thrive in the space, offering their customers the increased range of betting opportunities they now expect.”
These deals indicate PBS’s ability to offer services to a wide range of bookmakers and show their appeal to smaller, independent operators across the countries. The PBS terminals offer improved functionality and a broader range of choices for customers compared to traditional, over-the-counter services and have led to a rise in incremental revenue and margins for operators in the past few years.
“Our SSBTs are unmatched in the incremental review generated through in-play betting and an extensive choice of markets and sports, giving independent operators the competitive edge required to compete with the greater marketing spend of others,” continued Pettit.
