Grosvenor Casino has opened the smallest casino in the world which can be found in the back of a black cab in Birmingham. Customers have already been enjoying rides around the city.
Grosvenors, part of the Rank Group, signed a deal with Kambi Sports Solutions earlier this year to develop a sports betting product that allows customers to place online wagers. The Play Your Way promotion being run via the black cab casino is promoting the online sportsbook with a focus on sports betting throughout the casino experience. This includes televisions screening sporting events that can be watched throughout the ride. In addition, the first rides included former cricketer for England, Phil Tufnell, in the cab.
The cab casino is a full-service casino with table games, a dealer and a bar available in the cab. Online betting is available as well with customers provided with a tablet for this purpose. It has been described by director of sales and marketing at Grosvenor Casinos, Jo Blundell, as “truly a unique experience.”
The black cab casino is currently doing a three-week tour of major cities in the UK, beginning in London and then heading on to Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and finally Glasgow. Customers can pick up a ride in the casino cab by simply hailing it down or by tweeting the casino asking to be picked up. The rides are free if you want to be taken to the Hill Street Casino, but you can also choose to be taken to another location for the cost of a donation to the casino’s charity of choice, Carer’s Trust.
“We’re thrilled to announce the launch of what we believe to be the world’s smallest travelling casino and reward our loyal customers with some complimentary rides, as well as welcome some new faces,” stated Blundell.
