US slots manufacturer and gaming technology provider, International Game Technology (IGT), has strengthened its partnership with Canadian lottery operator, British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) with the launch of an omni-channel progressive slots game in the US.
IGT and BCLC have been in partnership for nineteen years, with IGT delivering a range of casino-style games for lottery customers. From 2010, IGT supplied interactive games for PlayNow.com, the first regulated online gaming site in Canada. The launch of the new omni-channel Powerbucks progressive jackpot slots game takes this partnership to a new level.
“Powerbucks extends IGT’s legacy in developing omni-channel products that push the envelope of innovation and transform the way players enjoy gaming entertainment,” stated David Flinn, IGT regional vice president for Canada.
The game links the jackpot pool from BCLC’s Powerhits slots game that is available at their 33 land-based gaming venues with desktop and mobile adaptations of the game. These can be played through the PlayNow.com site in British Columbia and Manitoba.
Bets of C$0.50 to C$2.99 give players the chance to win the fixed jackpot prize of C$1 million. Bets of $3.00 or more will give players eligibility for the progressive jackpot prize which starts at C$1 million.
“Powerbucks delivers a whole new jackpot experience to PlayNow.com players that is unique in North America,” announced vice president of e-gaming at BCLC, Monica Bohm. “Players can play Powerbucks for a chance to win jackpots of CA$1 million or more any time from their mobile devices, home computers or local casinos.”
Brad Desmarais, BCLC vice president of casino and community gaming added: “The introduction of new, innovative products, such as Powerbucks, helps BCLC deliver the very best in gambling entertainment to British Columbians while benefiting communities across the province.”
