UK gaming operator, Gamesys, has partnered with betting platform specialist, Metric Gaming, to launch its own sports betting platform this week. Bethotshot.com will launch to coincide with the kickoff of the Euro 2016 Football Championship.
Bethotshot.com will act as a beta brand allowing Gamesys to establish best practice through its operations. The company plans to later launch a betting site associated with the Virgin brand. Gamesys acquired Virgin Games for an undisclosed sum in 2013 and its betting site is expected to be Virginbet.com.
“Since its inception, Metric’s core business has focused on enhancing existing sportsbook offerings with SuperLive markets and innovative, proprietary betting products,” said chief executive of Metric Gaming, Peter Bertilsson.
“Together with Gamesys’s own unique take and renowned gaming expertise and a complete focus on the mobile experience, the end product will offer customers something a little different from the norm.”
“Gamesys’ track record speaks for itself. They themselves build great technology so we are honored that they recognised the power of our platform to help them enter the Sports market.”
Gamesys typically opts for in-house development; however, in this case, they have chosen to partner with Metric Gaming to create its new betting site. Bethotshot will feature Metric Gaming’s SuperLive markets, which offers instant betting options such as the chance to bet on whether a goal will be scored within the next minute.
This is an important launch for Gamesys within the highly competitive sports betting market in the UK and represents their first launch into the betting vertical after Intertain acquired its leading brands including JackpotJoy, Starspins and Botemania.
“This is an exciting step for Gamesys,” announced chief executive of Gamesys, Lee Fenton. “We see tremendous potential in Metric’s technology and believe our companies’ visions are aligned for this industry’s future.”
